The invention relates to a device (1) which is used to produce hydrogen from a hydrocarbon, obtaining high energy efficiency and generating low levels of carbon dioxide and pollutants. The inventive device (1) comprises (a) a conversion reactor (4) which is used to convert the aforementioned hydrocarbons using water vapour. According to the invention, pure or almost pure oxygen is fed into the reactor (4) in order to oxidise one part of the hydrocarbons and to provide the heat necessary to convert virtually all of the other part of the hydrocarbons into hydrogen, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. The device (1) also comprises: (b) means (5) of pre-heating the hydrocarbons, the oxygen flow and the water to be vaporised; (c) at least one heat exchanger (6) which is used to cool the conversion products in order to recover a fraction of the thermal energy of said conversion products; and (d) hydrogen-enrichment equipment. The above-mentioned reactor (4), the pre-heating means (5), the heat exchanger (6) and the enrichment equipment all operate at high pressures, e.g. above 30 bars.
L'invention concerne un dispositif (1) pour produire de l'hydrogène à partir d'un hydrocarbure avec un bon rendement énergétique et en générant de faibles quantités de dioxyde de carbone et de polluants. Le dispositif (1) comprend - (a) un réacteur de conversion (4) desdits hydrocarbures par de la vapeur d'eau. Le réacteur (4) est alimenté en oxygène pur ou quasiment pur pour oxyder une partie des hydrocarbures et apporter la chaleur nécessaire pour convertir, en hydrogène, en monoxyde de carbone et en dioxyde de carbone, la quasi intégralité de l'autre partie des hydrocarbures. Le dispositif (1) comprend en outre - (b) des moyens de préchauffage (5) desdits hydrocarbures, dudit flux d'oxygène et de l'eau à vaporiser, - (c) au moins un échangeur thermique (6) pour refroidir lesdits produits de conversion, pour récupérer une fraction de l'énergie thermique des produits de conversion, - (d) un équipement de valorisation de l'hydrogène, Le réacteur (4), les moyens de préchauffage (5), l'échangeur thermique (6) et l'équipement de valorisation fonctionnent à des pressions élevées, notamment supérieures à 30 bars.
