An entrance security gate is taught having a novel mounting arrangement. The mounting arrangement includes a pivotal mounting apparatus and locking apparatus which permit the grille of the gate to be swung away from the entrance for fire escape and cleaning or locked to discourage breaking and entry. the mounting system including a hinge pin which is adjustable in length permits the gate to be installed readily by a consumer and offers a flexibility as to the size of the entrance onto which it can be mounted.
