A system (10) for identifying the location of a fire extinguisher (16) includes a fire detector (14) with a wireless transmitter (22). When the detector (14) goes into alarm, it not only emits a local audible alarm, it also transmits wirelessly a signal (S) receivable by a fire extinguisher locator unit. The unit includesa receiver (18) and a circuitry for detecting the received alarm indicating signal. It also includes audible output circuit (30), for example, speech synthesis circuit (30), and optionally, an optical indicator (32). Upon detection at the unit of the alarm indicating signal, the speech synthesizing circuitry (30) can be activated to indicate verbally the location of the extinguisher (16). Simultaneously, the illuminatable output device (32), such as light bulb (32) or light emitting diode (32), can be energized to provide a visual indication of extinguisher location.
Ce système (10) d'identification de l'emplacement d'un extincteur (16) comprend un détecteur d'incendie (14) doté d'un émetteur sans fil (22). Lorsque le détecteur (14) entre en état d'alerte, non seulement il émet un signal d'alarme local audible, mais il émet également, sans fil, un signal (s) qui peut être reçu par une unité de localisation d'un extincteur. Cette unité comporte un récepteur (18) et des circuits de détection du signal reçu indiquant un état d'alarme, et elle comprend également un circuit de production (30) d'une sortie audible, par exemple un circuit de synthèse vocale (30), et éventuellement un indicateur optique (32). Simultanément, le cas échéant, le dispositif de sortie (32), qui peut être éclairé, comme une ampoule lumineuse (32) ou une diode électroluminescente (32), peut être mis sous tension, afin de fournir une indication visuelle de l'emplacement de l'extincteur.
