Resistance to environmental stress of various organisms, in particular higher plants, is elevated. A cDNA library originating in an organism highly resistant to stress (for example, mangrove) is expressed in <i>Escherichia coli</i> which is highly sensitive to stress and clones showing strengthened resistance to stress are selected. A gene thus obtained is expressed in various cells to thereby construct transformants having strengthened resistance to stress.
La résistance au stress ambiant est élevée dans plusieurs organismes, notamment les végétaux supérieurs. Une banque d'ADNc provenant d'un organisme très résistant au stress (par exemple la mangrove) est exprimée dans <i>Escherichia coli</i> qui est très sensible au stress, et des clones présentant une résistance accrue au stress sont sélectionnés. Un gène ainsi obtenu est exprimé dans plusieurs organismes, ce qui permet de produire des transformants possédant une résistance accrue au stress.
