The present invention provides environmentally friendly demulsifiers for the break down of petroleum oil applications. The demulsification formulations of the present invention are biodegradable and are low in toxicity. The demulsifiers include a poly(tetramethylene glycol) and an alkylene glycol copolymer linked to the poly(tetramethylene glycol) by a difunctional coupling agent.

Cette invention concerne des désémulsifiants écologiques destinés à provoquer la rupture d'émulsions d'hydrocarbure et d'eau dans les applications pétrolifères. Les formulations de désémulsification décrites dans cette invention sont biodégradables et peu toxiques. Les désémulsifiants renferment un poly(tétraméthylène glycol) et un copolymère d'alkylène glycol lié au poly(tétraméthylène glycol) par un agent de couplage difonctionnel.
