The present invention relates to a process for liquefaction and saccharification of polysaccharide containing biomasses, having a relatively high dry matter content. The present invention combines enzymatic hydrolysis with a type of mixing relying on the principle of gravity ensuring that the biomasses are subjected to mechanical forces, primarily shear and tear forces. Furthermore, the present invention relates to the further utilisation of such processed biomasses, e.g. for subsequent fermentation into bio-ethanol, bio- gas, specialty carbohydrates for food and fees as well as carbon feedstock for processing into plastics and chemicals.
L'invention concerne un procédé de liquéfaction et de saccharification de biomasses contenant des polysaccharides. Le procédé de l'invention combine l'hydrolyse enzymatique avec un type de mélange reposant sur le principe de la gravité, permettant aux biomasses d'être exposées à des forces mécaniques, principalement des forces de cisaillement et de déchirement. De plus, l'invention porte sur l'utilisation desdites biomasses traitées, par exemple pour la fermentation ultérieure et la transformation en bio-éthanol, biogaz, glucides spécialisés pour la nourriture et l'alimentation et matière première d'alimentation carbonée destinées à être traitées et transformées en plastiques et produits chimiques.
