A unitary single use analytic device for detecting an enzyme in a liquid. The device comprises a support structure for manual manipulation and a composition associated therewith which is responsive to the enzyme in such a way as to cause a change in appearance of the device. The device may be adapted for detecting an enzymes from a plurality of classes by having compositions selectively responsive to an enzyme of one class, each responding in such a way as to cause a change in appearance of the device indicative of the presence of an enzyme of a respective class. Also disclosed is a method for estimating the activity of an enzyme in a liquid comprising the steps of inserting a test trip of the present invention into the liquid and measuring the time taken from the moment of insertion until a predetermined change in appearance of the test trip is observed, or noting the appearance of the strip after predetermined time.
L'invention porte sur un dispositif d'analyse d'une pièce à jeter permettant de détecter la présence d'une enzyme dans un liquide. Le dispositif comprend: une structure support manipulable et une composition associée réagissant à l'enzyme en modifiant l'aspect du dispositif. Le dispositif est conçu pour détecter une enzyme parmi plusieurs classes d'enzymes à l'aide de compositions réagissant sélectivement à une enzyme de ladite classe en produisant une modification d'aspect du dispositif qui indique la présence d'une enzyme de la classe correspondante. L'invention porte également sur une méthode d'estimation de l'activité d'une enzyme dans un liquide consistant: à plonger la bandelette témoin de l'invention dans le liquide, à mesurer le temps entre la plongée et l'apparition d'une modification donnée de la bandelette, ou à noter l'aspect de la bande après un temps donné.
