ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention is an enzyme membrane which can be used as a chemical or electrochemical transducer. The enzyme membrane is permeable and consists of an organic high molecular weight polymer. The membrane is also characterized in that it is microporous, i.e., it preferable has pores having an average diameter of 10 to 10,000 A. By using a microporous organic high polymer for the membrane, the disadvantages of prior art enzyme membranes can be avoided.
