A propylene epoxidation process wherein a supported silver catalyst is utilized may be operated at high efficiency even in the absence of any organic chloride in the feedstream, provided the catalyst is first contacted at an elevated temperature with a treatment stream comprised of an organic chloride and molecular oxygen.

L'invention concerne un procédé d'époxydation de propylène, dans lequel on utilise un catalyseur sur support d'argent, et que l'on peut exécuter avec un haut degré d'efficacité même en l'absence de tout chlorure organique dans le courant d'alimentation, à condition que le catalyseur soit d'abord mis en contact à température élevée avec un courant de traitement composé d'un chlorure organique et d'oxygène moléculaire.
