ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A composition containing an epoxy resin, a liquid carboxy-containing polymer, a phenol, and an amine cures ra- pidly, without external heating, to a cured resin having a durometer A hardness over ?0 and Gardner impact resistance of over 100 inch-pounds. The amine is selected from (a) amino- alkylene piperazines of the formula Image wherein R is an alkylene radical containing 1 to about 8 carbon atoms, (b) bis(aminoalkylene) piperazines of the formula Image wherein R is defined as above, (c) low molecular weight poly- ethylene polyamines of the formula Image where y = 2 to about 6, and ?d) dialkyl aminoalkylene amines of the formula Image where R is defined as above and R' is an alkyl radical contain- ing 1 to 3 carbon atoms; and a phenol. The composition cures to a dry surface within one day yielding a compound having good ad?esion to a substrate, a durometer A hardness over 60, and a Gardner impact re?istance over 100 inch-pounds (on about ? 1/4 inch thick sample.
