An epoxy resin composition containing isomers of epoxy resins other than para- or 4,4'-isomers at levels of at least about 33 % by weight provides higher modulus matrices yielding composites with improved compression, tension and shear strengths. The epoxy resin contains at least about 33 % by weight of glycidyl amine group-containing epoxy resin(s) which are isomers other than para- or 4,4'-isomers and from 0-67 % by weight of aromatic epoxy resin(s). The epoxy resin is blended with a curing agent and a polymeric toughening agent.
Une composition de résine époxy contenant des isomères de résines époxy différents des isomères para ou 4,4' à des concentrations d'au moins environ 33 % en poids permet d'obtenir des composites élastiques ayant des matrices à module supérieur, présentant des résistances améliorées à la compression, à la tension et au cisaillement. Cette résine époxy contient au moins environ 33 % en poids de résine(s) époxy renfermant des groupes amine glycidylique, lesquelles sont des isomères différents des isomères para ou 4,4', et de 0 à 67 % en poids de résine(s) époxy aromatique(s). Cette résine époxy est mélangée avec un agent durcisseur et un agent rigidifiant polymère.
