An electronic transmit/receive device employs an equalized envelope derived timing system to compensate for differential time delay occurring at upper and lower bandedges of a received signal. The received signal is split into a complex signal (414) and the envelope derived timing system (416, 418, 420) is utilized to perform amplitude and delay distortion compensation on the received signal. The amplitude and delay distortion compensation is performed by employing bandedge filters which preferably take the form of Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filters.

Un dispositif électronique d'émission/réception utilise un système de synchronisation compensé dérivé de l'enveloppe pour compenser la temporisation différentielle survenant en bordure supérieure et en bordure inférieure de la bande du signal reçu. Ce dernier est divisé en un signal complexe (414) et le système de synchronisation compensé dérivé de l'enveloppe (416, 418, 420) est utilisé pour compenser l'amplitude et la distorsion du temps de propagation au niveau du signal reçu. La compensation de l'amplitude et de la distorsion du temps de propagation s'effectue à l'aide de filtres en bordure de bande se présentant de préférence sous forme de filtres à réponse impulsionnelle finie (FIR).
