Abstract A cooling equipment for continuously cooling fresh goods, especially freshly slaughtered fish, comprises an open tank (1) containing a cooling medium such as a salt water solu- tion. Above the tank is disposed an endless conveyor (2) with advancing panel members to convey the fresh goods through the cooling medium from one end of the tank to the other. The conveyor can be raised and lowered. When the equipment is in operation the cooling medium is circulated through a per- forated plate (14) at the bottom of the tank and upwardly through an upper perforated plate or plate elements (29). The cooling medium is thereafter evacuated from the tank and via a pipe loop to a heat exchanger and further through a puri- fying unit before it is returned to the tank.
