The invention concerns an equipment comprising an immersed nozzle (6) with outlets in the main casting plane (P) differentiated by their output direction into at least two categories (7, 8) associated to two mutually opposite inductors (14, 15) on each large surface (22) of the casting ingot mould forming an air gap circumscribed at the nozzle and producing a through magnetic field covering the outlets of at least one category (7), means being provided to adjust the intensity of the field or for moving it so as to be able to modify the distribution among the outlets of the total flow rate of molten metal. In particular, when the method is implemented, it enables to add at all times the fraction of metal flow heading towards the free surface (9) relative to the main surface, oriented towards the base of the ingot mould. The invention is advantageously used for continuous casting of steel slabs.

L'équipement comprend une busette immergée (6) à ouïes de sortie dans le plan principal de coulée (p) différenciées par leur direction de sortie en au moins deux catégories (7, 8) associée à deux inducteurs (14, 15) en regard l'un de l'autre sur chaque grande face (22) de la lingotière de coulée formant un entrefer circonscrit à la busette et produisant un champ magnétique traversant couvrant les ouïes d'au moins une catégorie (7), des moyens étant prévus pour régler l'intensité du champ ou pour le déplacer de manière à pouvoir modifier la répartition entre les ouïes du débit total de métal en fusion. En particulier, la mise eu oeuvre de l'invention permet d'ajuster à tout moment la fraction du débit de métal qui se dirige vers la surface libre (9) par rapport à celle, principale, dirigée vers le bas de la lingotière. L'invention s'applique avantageusement à la coulée continue de brames d'acier.
