An electronic whiteboard system with an eraser device is disclosed. The electronic whiteboard system can comprise a writing surface and a retro-reflective perimeter. One of more optical detection elements can be disposed at the corners of the perimeter. The detection elements can emit a light beam and detect its reflection. The system can detect the presence of an object in proximity to the writing surface by the absence of reflected light. The erasing device can comprise retro-reflective elements. The retro-reflective elements can produce a distinct reflective pattern observed by the detection elements when they reflect the emitted light beams. The reflective pattern can be analyzed to determine the orientation of the erasing device relative to the writing surface. By determining the actual orientation of the erasing device ghosting, or ambiguity in the orientation of device, can be eliminated or substantially reduced.
L'invention concerne un système de tableau blanc électronique muni dun dispositif effaceur. Le système de tableau blanc électronique peut comporter une surface décriture et un périmètre rétro-réfléchissant. Un ou plusieurs éléments optiques de détection peuvent être disposés aux coins du périmètre. Les éléments de détection peuvent émettre un faisceau lumineux et détecter sa réflexion. Le système peut détecter la présence dun objet à proximité de la surface décriture par labsence de lumière réfléchie. Le dispositif effaceur peut comporter des éléments rétro-réfléchissants. Lesdits éléments rétro-réfléchissants peuvent produire un motif caractéristique de réflexion observé par les éléments de détection lorsquils réfléchissent les faisceaux lumineux émis. Le motif de réflexion peut être analysé pour déterminer lorientation du dispositif effaceur par rapport à la surface décriture. En déterminant lorientation réelle du dispositif effaceur, on parvient à éliminer ou à réduire sensiblement les images fantômes ou les ambiguïtés dans lorientation du dispositif.
