A palm driver (10) has a rotatable drive member (35) and an ergonomic handle body (11) connected to the drive member through a ratchet mechanism (37) and covered by a cushioning grip (30). The handle body is asymmetri-cally curved and is substantially contin-uously convex along portions engage-able in use with the user's hand, having a generally flattened top surface (12) opposite the drive member and receiv-able in the user's palm and a periph-eral side surface (16) which has a plan outline which is continuously convex and has a generally flattened heel por-tion (17) and an opposed, much smaller radius finger portion (21), respectively engageable with the heel and fingers of the user's hand in use.
