A tilted musician stool comprises a central column, a seat mounted at an upper end of the column and adapted to take on a series of orientations with respect thereto, and a base secured to a lower end of the column. The upper end of the base defines a longitudinal central square opening which slidably receives the square column. The position of the column and thus of the seat with respect to the base can be selectively varied. The lower end of the base is enlarged and defines an annular peripheral rim extending in a plane. The lower end of the base further includes a downwardly projecting central leg which is coaxial to the longitudinal axis of the stool. The lowermost end of the leg is located below the plane of the annular rim. The stool is thus at rest supported on its leg and on a portion of the annular rim and in an unstable position. The user of the stool can exert forces with his/her legs and pelvis to raise the complete rim above the ground such as the stool engages the ground only at its central leg, wherein the user sits in an ergonomic and anti-fatigue upright position. If the user gradually decreases the application of the required forces to retain the rim away from the ground, the annular will eventually contact the ground, whereby the user will become aware that he/she has relaxed his/her posture and has thus moved away from the ergonomic position; the user can then take again the proper position by exerting forces so as to lift the annular rim from the ground.
