ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention resides in an ergonomic support including a lumbar supporting portion and a posterior supporting portion, at least one of said portions including a first non-planar member having a contoured body supporting surface, and a plurality of first support members forming at least a portion of said non-planar member, said support members being joined together to individually and cooperatively provide flexible support for a supported region of a person so that said support members conform to said supported region for different body positions. The posterior supporting portion and/or the lumbar supporting portion may comprise shell portions and may have portions extending outwardly varying distances from a common reference plane.
