A utility knife/box cutter (10) includes an ergonomically-shaped handle portion with exterior stippling (15) to provide a good grasp upon the knife. Within the handle portion, a channel member (90) is received in a forwardly extending cavity (42) and movably receives a cutting blade carrier (132) for longitudinal movement relative to the handle portion. A cutter blade (34) carried in the blade carrier (132) is moveable between a storage position entirely within the handle portion and successively further forward use and replacement positions. Also received into the handle portion is a spare blade holder member pivotal between a blade retaining position and a blade-releasing position in which a forward part of the spare blade holder member (26) is pivoted out of the handle portion to present spare blades (34) for removal and transfer to the cutting blade carrier.
Un ensemble (10) couteau/lame d'ouverture de boîtes comprend une partie manche ergonomique présentant une texturation externe (15) qui permet d'avoir une meilleure prise en main du couteau. Un élément en U (90) est reçu, à l'intérieur du manche, dans une cavité (42) s'étendant vers l'avant, et reçoit de manière mobile un porte-lame (132) pouvant être longitudinalement déplacé par rapport au manche. Une lame (34) portée dans le porte-lame (132), peut être déplacée entre une position de rangement, entièrement escamotée à l'intérieur du manche, et des positions d'utilisation et de remplacement dans lesquelles elle est successivement déplacée vers l'avant. Un élément de support de lame de rechange, également reçu dans le manche, peut pivoter entre une position de retenue de lame et une position de libération de lame dans laquelle une partie avant de l'élément de support (26) est pivotée hors du manche afin de permettre l'enlèvement des lames de rechange (34) et leur transfert vers le porte-lame.
