ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Simply stated, the present invention contemplates the use of a ceramic fiber insulation material which is impregnated with an agent capable of stiffening the blanket and reducing erosion of the insulation material under conditions of use. The invention is especially applicable to the internal insulation of reactor vessels, where severe reaction conditions render the lining susceptible to cracking and separation from the reactor walls and also to erosion and corrosion by the reactants in the vessel.
