ABSTRACT A laser angular rate sensor having two waves travelling in opposite directions around the path and having a lock-in error cancelling biasing system wherein at least one of the waves is varied so that its phase with respect to the other of the waves takes on alternately first and second values at predetermined times to thereby reduce the lock-in error.
