ABSTRACT This invention relates to an error prevention mechanism for a tape recorder which can hold certain control buttons in a non-control condition when other control buttons are operated. The device is of simple construction and provides a lock plate and a spring which together function to hold the buttons in non-control condition, and to release them therefrom. The simple construction of the mechanism is advantageous, particularly in the mounting of the spring and in the exact operation of the lock plate.
