ABSTRACT ESTER COMPOUND LUBRICANTS Use as lubricants, especially for tractive drives, of ester compounds of the general formula I Image (I) wherein R1 and R2 are the same and each represents a cyclohexyl group optionally bearing one or more methyl substituents, and R is a methylene, ethylene or trimethylene group optionally bearing one or more methyl substituents. The compounds have very high traction coefficients and show excellent lubricating performance in tractive drives.
