Selon l'invention, la réaction d'un polymère contenant un acide carboxylique avec certaines amines aromatiques et certains polyols permet d'obtenir des modificateurs de viscosité sous forme de dispersants contenant des esters présentant une efficacité de traitement des suies améliorée dans les moteurs diesel de grosses cylindrées, par comparaison avec les dispersants ne contenant pas d'esters.
