ABSTRACT The invention relates to novel ester lubricants which can be used in combination with a hydrocarbon base fluid. The ester lubricants are mixtures of esters based on a 2-alkyl substituted propane diol-1,3, a trimethylol alkane (C1-C4), optionally a C5-C15- ether diol and mixture of C6-C10- and C12-C18 monocarboxylic acids.
