ESTERS OF DISUBSTITUTED ISOBUTYRIC ACIDS, PRODUCTION THEREOF AND PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING THE SAME ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process is provided for preparing new pharmacolo- gically valuable esters of isobutyric acid having the general formula Image in which R is biphenylyl, norbornyl or para-cyclohexylphenyl and R1 and R2 are each lower alkyl groups, by esterifying a monocarboxylic acid having the general formula Image in which R is as defined above, with a halide having the general formula X - (CH2)2 - NR1R2 in which R1 and R2 are as defined above and X is a halogen atom and basifying the product. The esters form salts with pharmaceutically acceptable acids. The esters and their salts possess spasmolytic and vasodilatory activity and are useful in the treatment of arterial disorders.
