ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention is concerned with organic esters for lubricating compositions. These esters are characterized in that they are obtained by reacting a) bifunctional neopentyl polyols having the formula: Image wherein R1 is a methyl or ethyl radical, in admixture with trifunctional neopentyl polyols having the formula: Image wherein R2 represents a methyl or ethyl radical, in a molar ratio of from 1:2.5 to 1:10, with b) a mixture of monocarboxylic acids of the type RCO2H, wherein R is a linear alkyl group having from 5 to 7 or 11 to 17 carbon atoms,in a molar ratio of from 4:1 to 19:1.
