ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An integrated process for preparing ethylene carbonate, wherein ethylene oxide (EO) is prepared by direct oxidation of ethylene in the presence of a silver catalyst, the effluent gases from the reactor are con- tacted with ethylene carbonate (EC) to adsorb EO and CO2, which are removed from the EC by contacting with an inert gas. The EO and CO2 are then reacted in the presence of a catalyst, preferably an anion-exchange resin containing trimethylbenzyl ammonium halide groups, to prepare ethyl- ene carbonate. 26,617-F
