ETHYLENE/CHLORINE ELIMINATION PROCESS Abstract of the Disclosure An improvement in a process for recover- ing residual amounts of ethylene in ethylene chlorination effluents is disclosed, whereby unreacted chlorine is virtually eliminated. Elimination of the chlorine is accomplished by reacting it with the chlorinated hydro- carbons in the stream over a novel ferric chloride catalyst mixture.
