An ethylene polymer having small values of Mw/Mn and Mz/Mw, a small proportion of long-chain branches, a high melt tension and a high swell ratio and a process for preparing the same are disclosed. A process for preparing an ethylene polymer by polymerizing ethylene in the presence of an ethylene polymerization catalyst comprising a solid titanium catalyst component containing titanium, magnesium, halogen and a compound having at least two ether linkages present through plural atoms with an organometallic compound catalyst component is further disclosed. Therefore, the ethylene polymer is excellent in moldability, and from this polymer, a molded article which is excellent in rigidity and impact resistance and free from poor appearance can be obtained.

Divulgation concernant un polymère d'éthylène possédant des valeurs Mw/Mn et Mz/Mw faibles, un petit pourcentage de ramifications à longue chaîne, une tension élevée à chaud et un fort taux de gonflement; méthode pour le préparer. La divulgation concerne également une méthode pour préparer un polymère d'éthylène par polymérisation d'éthylène en présence d'un catalyseur de polymérisation d'éthylène, renfermant un constituant catalytique solide - contenant du titane, du magnésium et un halogène, ainsi qu'un composé comportant au moins deux liens éther présents sur plusieurs atomes -, et un constituant catalytique de type organométallique. Ce polymère d'éthylène présente une excellente aptitude au moulage, et on peut obtenir à partir dudit polymère un article moulé, excellent du point de vue rigidité et résistance aux chocs, et sans apparence médiocre aucune.
