An ethylene polymerization process is disclosed. The process uses a single- site catalyst that contains a boraaryl ligand. The catalyst is premixed with alkyl aluminum to reduce the induction time of the catalyst. In addition, premixing the catalyst with triethyl aluminum significantly enhances the bulk density of polyethylene.

Cette invention concerne un procédé de polymérisation de l'éthylène. Ce procédé repose sur l'emploi d'un seul catalyseur monosite renfermant un ligand boraaryl. On mélange préalablement le catalyseur un alkyl aluminum afin d'en réduire la durée d'induction. Le prémixage du catalyseur avec du triéthyl aluminium permet d'augmenter sensiblement la densité du polyéthylène.
