ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An ethyltoluene isomer mixture consisting essentially of from about 90 to about 99 weight percent of para-ethyltoluene, about 1 to about 10 weight percent of meta-ethyltoluene and 0 to about 0.1 weight percent of ortho-ethyltoluene, This isomer mixture is a valuable intermediate for the preparation of a vinyltoluene isomer mixture which in turn may be polymerized to polymers having unusual and advantageous proper-ties.
