Europium compounds represented by the general formula (1) and water-base ink compositions containing the same: (1) [wherein X is an optionally substituted aromatic or heterocyclic group; Y is a fluorohydrocarbon group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms; Z1 to Z3 are each independently a hydrophilicity-imparting group; R1 to R3 are each a direct bond or a divalent hydrocarbon or heterocyclic group which may be substituted; n1 to n3 are each independently an integer of 0 to 2; and m1 to m3 are each independently an integer of 1 to 3, with the proviso that all of n1 to n3 must not be 0]. The compounds and the ink compositions are excellent in stability and safety, and emit red light by irradiation with ultraviolet light though they are substantially invisible in the visible region. Thus, they are useful for prints which are to be read by a system having a sensor reading function and necessitate hidden letters or security markings.
L'invention concerne des composés d'europium représentés par la formule générale (1) et des compositions d'encre à base d'eau renfermant ceux-ci: (1) dans laquelle X désigne un groupe aromatique ou hétérocyclique éventuellement substitué ; Y représente un groupe fluorohydrocarbone possédant entre 1 et 10 atomes de carbone ; Z1 à Z3 désignent indépendamment un groupe conférant une hydrophilicité ; R1 à R3 représentent chacun une liaison directe ou un hydrocarbone divalent ou un groupe hétérocyclique pouvant être substitué ; n1 à n3 désignent indépendamment un nombre entier compris entre 0 et 2 ; et m1 à m3 représentent indépendamment un nombre entier compris entre 1 et 3, pour autant que n1 à n3 ne soient pas égaux à 0. Les composés et les compositions d'encre présentent une stabilité et une sûreté excellentes et émettent un rayonnement rouge par irradiation au moyen d'un rayonnement ultraviolet, même si ceux-ci sont sensiblement invisibles dans la région visible. Par conséquent, ces composés et compositions sont utiles pour des imprimés devant être lus par un système doté d'une fonction de lecture par capteur et nécessitant des lettres cachées ou des cotes de sécurité.
