A system for launching and retrieving boats from an offshore work platform (12), the system comprising a deployment arm (20) adapted to be rotatably secured at one end thereof to superstructure of the platform for rotation between a first pre-lunch position and a second post-launch position, means (38) for controlling rotation of the arm between the first and second positions, and boat support means mounted adjacent an outer end of the arm, the support means comprising a spaced pair of support members (50) each having thereon an open claw structure for receiving a support pin associated with a respective side of a boat.

Système de mise à l'eau et de récupération de canots à partir d'une plateforme (12) de forage en mer, ce système comprenant un bras (20) apte à se déployer et conçu pour être fixé rotatif, au niveau d'une de ses extrémités, à la superstructure de la plateforme, afin de pivoter entre une première position avant mise à l'eau et une seconde position après mise à l'eau, des moyens (38) permettant de commander la rotation du bras entre les première et seconde positions, ainsi que des moyens de support de canot montés adjacents à une extrémité externe du bras, ce moyen de support comprenant une paire espacée d'éléments de support (50) dont chacun comporte une structure de griffe ouverte destinée à recevoir un goujon de support associé à un côté correspondant d'un canot.
