New testing methodology for the evaluation of the protection of the Personal Protective Equipments (PPE) for the respiratory tract against biological agents, characterized in that different machineries are used to reproduce the usage of the PPE, simulating a breathing through the Sheffield's head and self-respirator. The apparatus consists of: a) a viral and/or bacterial aerosol generator b) a test chamber containing the Sheffield's head c) a respirator simulating breathing and adjusting the inspiration and expiration frequency d) a suction system delivering the samples of air withdrawn in different points to the bubblers to determine the viral and/or bacterial concentrations.
L'invention concerne une nouvelle méthodologie d'essais pour l'évaluation de la protection des équipements de protection individuelle (EPi) pour le tractus respiratoire contre des agents biologiques, caractérisée en ce que des machineries différentes sont utilisées pour reproduire l'utilisation de l'EPi, simulant une respiration à travers une tête de Sheffield et un auto-insufflateur. L'appareil consiste en : a) un générateur d'aérosols viraux et/ou bactériens, b) une chambre d'essais contenant la tête de Sheffield, c) un insufflateur simulant la respiration et réglant la fréquence d'inspiration et d'expiration, d) un système d'aspiration acheminant les échantillons d'air extraits dans des points différents vers les tubes de barbotage pour déterminer les concentrations virales et/ou bactériennes.
