The invention relates to an evaporative cooler (1) having two medium circuits which are thermally coupled to one another by a number of heat-conducting vertical walls (2). These walls (2) and the heat-conducting fins arranged thereon are provided with a hydrophilic, waterbuffering covering layer, for example made from Portland cement. A humidification unit for moistening the covering layer is added to the dew point cooler. According to the invention, the humidification unit comprises a releasable cover (7) which forms part of the casing of the dew point cooler and bears at least one sprinkler (16, 17, 18, 19) or nozzle for distributing water over the covering layer.

L'invention concerne un refroidisseur par évaporation qui comporte deux circuits de milieu couplés thermiquement par des parois verticales conductrices de chaleur. Les parois et les lamelles conductrices de chaleur se situant sur celles-ci sont pourvues d'une couche de protection hydrophile servant de tampon d'eau, faite par exemple de ciment Portland. Une unité d'humidification pour humidifier la couche de protection est ajoutée au refroidisseur à point de condensation. L'unité d'humidification comprend un couvercle détachable qui constitue une partie de l'enveloppe du refroidisseur à point de condensation, et comporte au moins un pulvérisateur ou une buse pour répartir l'eau sur la couche de protection.
