An evaporative emissions filter for an engine air induction system. The evaporative emissions filter includes a hydrocarbon vapor-adsorbent member disposed within the air induction system. A mechanism is provided for mounting the evaporative emissions filter within the air induction system. Hydrocarbon vapors present in the air induction system after engine shut-down are substantially retained in the adsorbent member until air flows through the air induction system after the engine starts.

La présente invention a trait à un filtre d'émissions d'hydrocarbures volatiles pour un circuit d'entrée d'air d'un moteur. Le filtre de gaz d'évaporation de carburant comporte un organe d'absorption de vapeurs d'hydrocarbures disposé au sein du circuit d'entrée d'air. Un mécanisme est prévu pour le montage du filtre de gaz d'évaporation de carburant au sein du circuit d'entrée d'air. Les vapeurs d'hydrocarbures présentes dans le circuit d'entrée d'air après l'arrêt moteur sont sensiblement retenues dans l'organe d'absorption jusqu'à la circulation d'air dans le circuit d'entrée d'air après le démarrage du moteur.
