A software defined radio has a -radio circuit and executable radio software system operable with the radio circuit, and defining an operating environment that allows a waveform application to operate with the radio circuit for transmitting and receiving voice and data. A processor, such as a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), is operable with the radio circuit and includes an event sequencer for controlling the sequence and timing of events in the radio circuit.

L'invention concerne une radio définie par logiciel présentant un circuit radio et un système logiciel radio exécutable pouvant fonctionner avec le circuit radio et définissant un environnement de fonctionnement permettant à une application de forme d'onde de fonctionner avec le circuit radio pour émettre et pour recevoir des éléments vocaux et des données. Un processeur, notamment une matrice de portes programmable par l'utilisateur (FPGA), peut fonctionner conjointement au circuit radio et comprend un séquenceur d'événements pour commander le séquençage et la synchronisation d'événements, dans le circuit radio.
