A replaceable wear edge for the forward edge of an excavator such as the lip or wing and which includes a generally U-shaped wear member equipped with a generally T-shaped slot engageable with a conforming T-shaped boss on a confronting surface on the excavator, the wear member upper surface being equipped with a keeper-equipped opening for receiving a lock between the boss and wear member. The lock includes a rigid, incompressible body to prevent removal of the wear member from the boss and a resilient latch to prevent inadvertent removal of the lock from the opening in the wear member.
