Abstract An excavator in which the underside of the under-frame is prefer- ably flat and a boom and cabin are mounted on a rail car, which is mounted on an upper-frame, which, in turn, is mounted on, and able to rotate against, a lower-frame. The rail car increases the manouverability of the boom by providing a better weight distribution on the wheels, and allows greater manouverability in the guidance of the bucket on the end of the boom.
