- 8 - ABSTRACT The invention relates to an excess temperature and starting safety device for a magnetic centrifugal pump, having a rotor which delivers the medium and whose shaft terminates at a gap dish, where it bears permanent magnets driven by oppositely disposed permanent magnets which are connected to the shaft of the driving motor, while attached to the inner or outer surface of the gap dish is a conductor, more particularly a piece of wire of a thermocouple whose other conductor, closing the conductor circuit, is formed by the gap dish.
