In the manufacture of exercise machines, there are many innovative machines that allow persons to exercise themselves in an endeavor to stay in good health and physical condition. Exercise facilities and private homes can be visited where these machines are put to good use. However, one thing lacking in all systems seen as yet, is a good incentive to exercise on a regular daily basis. Many of these machines are found in a room that is poorly lit where regular exercise can become boring There exist many types of walking, rowing, cycling and other types of exercise machines. This invention embodies the process and apparatuses necessary and capable of placing an incentive within view of the persons engaged in exercising themselves. Firstly, someone actually rowing a canoe, kayak, rubber raft, or boat on a river tour; cycling on a cycle path, or hiking on a hiking path would engage in taking a recording of the visual, sound and other data occurring and available while the activity is actually being done. This recording would be taken in a locality that would be of general or particular interest to anyone engaged in exercising themselves later in an enclosed exercise facility or private home. For example; we will use an actual hike taken on a hiking path found in a popular National Park noted for its scenic hiking trails. The visual, sound and other data experienced by the person taking the hike would be recorded on an electronic memory media. The recording would include visual images, sounds, time spent, distance traveled and etc. in such a way that all of those aspects of the recording would be relevant to the hike taken. The recording would then be transferred to the electronic memory media of a visual and sound display apparatus attached to or in front of a walkway or treadmill style exercise machine in such a way that the person exercising would seem actually to be taking the hike. That person would be able to enjoy the vista, sounds and etc. that the original hiker experienced. In essence, a virtual exercise experience. The distance and time aspects of the recording could also be; (But not necessarily so.) incorporated into the exercise machine in such a way that the walking track of the exercise machine would cause the exercise activity to become harder or easier to traverse according to the original terrain that the real hiker experienced. The same principle would be applied to exercise cycles or rowing machines with the applicable recorded activity being transferred into the display apparatus of each type of exercise machine in use. A wide range of hikes, cycle tours, or river water tours could be recorded and be available to anyone interested. In this way, daily exercise would be interesting and we would continue with our exercise programs in a more diligent manner.
