A handholdable exercising device (10) is provided in the forth of an elongated member (16) having a central portion (18) tapering into oppositely facing (20, 22) handle and end knob portions (24, 26). The elongated member (16), is its mostly preferred form, is generally cylindrical in cross-sectional shape and superficially resembles two baseball bats joined together end-to-end with their handle portions facing oppositely from each other. In as alternatively preferred embodiment, means are provided for selectively varying the weight of the exercising device. Various exercises also are disclosed for manipulating the member while walking or standing in place.
