-16- EXERCISING DEVICE FOR DISABLED PERSONS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Most exercising devices which include rotatable pedals or the like, are designed for able persons having sufficient strength for the arms and legs to operate same. The present device is for use by individuals who need assistance to exercise the arms or legs in order to regain the use thereof or to increase the strength thereof. It consists of a base pad upon which a chair may be placed and has a column hinged to the front end of the pad and adjustable, when in the erect position, to an angle compatible to the occupant of the chair. It includes a set of hand grips and cranks together with a set of foot pedals journalled for rotation on the column and operatively connected for synchronous rotation by means of a pulley and belt system within the column. If the arms require exercising, then the operation of the foot pedals rotates the hand cranks and if the legs require exercising then the operation of the hand cranks rotates the foot pedals.
