If a camshaft is disposed in the longitudinal direction of a vehicle body, an exhaust port is defined in the front surface of an engine, and a coolant pipe is disposed from a radiator in front of the engine to the front surface of the engine, then no space is available near the exhaust port for installing a valve case. It is an object of the present invention to install a valve case with ease. An engine 5 is disposed with a crankshaft 6 axially oriented i n the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body. A camshaft and an exhaust port in a cylinder head 11 are disposed parallel to the crankshaft 6. The exhaust port is open at the front surface of the cylinder head 11, and discharges exhaust gases through an exhaust pipe 13. Hoses 19, 21 extend from a radiator 20 in front of the engine 5 to the front surface of the engine 5. A valve case 14 is disposed on a left side of a cylinder block 10 in the vicinity of the exhaust port to which the exhaust pipe 13 is connected, and is connected to an air cleaner 15 behind the engine 5 by a substantially straight secondary air pipe 16.
