ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An exhaust system for home appliances requiring outside venting, such as a portable laundry dryer, which obviates the neces- sity of piercing an exterior wall to vent the appliance to the outside. The system includes a transparent window insert plate assembly, removably insertable within a window opening and having an exhaust outlet and a flexible air hose having means at both ends to removably connect the same with the sir outlet of a laundry dryer and with the exhaust outlet of the window insert plate assembly. The latter outlet has closure means to seal the window opening when the dryer is not in use. This closure means can be automatically closable, or manually closable. In the latter case, it can be arranged so that no part will protrude from the outside of the window in the closed position.
