An exhaust system for a lean-burn internal combustion engine, which system comprises a NOx-trap (2), characterised in that the system also includes an oxidation catalyst (1) for oxidising hydrocarbon (HC) during lean-burn conditions, which oxidation catalyst (1) is upstream (U) of the NOx-trap (2).
