The present invention is directed to novel exocytotic polypeptides, such as Exo1 and Exo2 polypeptides and related molecules, which have an inhibitory effect on exocytosis and to nucleic acid molecules encoding those polypeptides. Also provided herein are vectors and host cells comprising those nucleic acid sequences, chimeric polypeptide molecules comprising the polypeptides of the present invention fused to heterologous polypeptide sequences, antibodies which bind to the polypeptides of the present invention and to methods for producing the polypeptides of the present invention. Further provided by the present invention are methods for identifying novel compositions which mediate exocytotic polypeptide bioactivity, and the use of such compositions in diagnosis and treatment of disease.

La présente invention concerne de nouveaux polypeptides exocytotiques tels que Exo 1 et Exo 2 et des molécules apparentées, qui ont un effet inhibiteur sur l'exocytose, ainsi que des molécules d'acide nucléique codant pour ces polypeptides. L'invention concerne également des vecteurs et des cellules hôtes renfermant ces séquences nucléotidiques, des molécules de polypeptides chimères renfermant les polypeptides couverts par la présente invention et fixés à des séquences polypeptidiques hétérologues, des anticorps qui se lient aux polypeptides de la présente invention et des procédés de fabrication desdits polypeptides. De plus, l'invention a trait à un procédé qui permet d'identifier de nouvelles compositions ayant une fonction de médiateur dans une bioactivité polypeptidique exocytotique ainsi que l'emploi de ces compositions dans le diagnostic et le traitement de maladies.
