This invention is a new device that can be used to plug perforations in materials. This plug comprises a cylinder plug with a tapered bore partially extending through the plug from one end. A cylinder pin that is tapered substantially the same as the plug will fit in the plug after installation is complete. A shear flange surrounds the pin so that when the pin is installed in the plug, the shear flange is against a plug flange. The pin is adhered to the plug by means such as a thin layer of epoxy or glue which allows the pin and plug to be handled as a single component. The pin is designed so that while in this position, there is no significant radial expansion of the plug. The pin has a pattern of holes or grooves that extend the entire length of the pin in order toallow for the expansion of any trapped fluids in the bore of the plug. The pin can have a groove along the outer diameter to allow for easier handling of the pin. The diameter size of these openings are not important, as long as the openings are large enough to resist plugging with debris.
L'invention concerne un nouveau dispositif pouvant servir à boucher des perforations dans des matériaux. Le bouchon comprend un cylindre à alésage tronconique s'étendant partiellement dans le bouchon à partir d'une extrémité. Une cheville cylindrique, essentiellement de même forme tronconique que le bouchon, pourra s'ajuster dans celui-ci une fois l'installation achevée. Une bride de cisaillement entoure la cheville de manière que quand la cheville est installée dans le bouchon, la bride de cisaillement s'appuie contre une bride du bouchon. On fait adhérer la cheville au bouchon à l'aide d'une mince couche d'époxyde ou de colle par exemple, ce qui permet de manipuler la cheville et le bouchon comme un seul élément. La cheville est conçue de telle façon qu'une fois dans cette position, il n'y a pas d'expansion radiale importante du bouchon. La cheville comprend un ensemble de trous ou de rainures qui s'étendent sur toute sa longueur de manière à permettre la dilatation de tout fluide piégé dans l'alésage du bouchon. La cheville peut comporter une rainure sur son diamètre extérieur pour faciliter la manipulation de la cheville. Le diamètre de ces ouvertures importe peu pour autant que les ouvertures soient suffisamment grandes pour ne pas être obturées par des débris.
