ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An expandable shopping bag utilizes an open mouth pouch, fabricated from a flexible material, having a girth encircling strap removably secured thereto which permits the pouch to be utilized in small and large item receiving capacities. The strap ends are removably affixed to the pouch adjacent the open mouth portion thereof facilitating its use as a shoulder strap, comple- menting a pair of string-like handles partially contained within opposed passageways shorter than half the perimeter of the marginal edges of the pouch.
